HABITAT: They are living in semitropical climates.
HISTORY: Sclater 1863.
DISCRIPTION:They are very popular in the aviaries because of their fine looking. But you have to provide some heat in the cold seasons. The males can be aggressive to their mates so it is better to put something for hiding for the females in the avairies.
AVAIRY POSITION: Well planted 15m2 avairy.
FEEDING: Pellets, seeds, green food, live food.
BREEDING AGE:First year they take their color but in the third year it is possible to have fertile eggs .
BREEDING SEASON:April-May.
NUMBER OF EGGS IN A YEAR:8-16 eggs.
INCUBATION PERIOD:24 days.
